Managing and Arbitrating Contracts, Variation Orders, and Contract Claims

Why Attend

Undoubtedly, contract management is equally important and no less important than other contract stages, whether negotiation, drafting, or implementation. This requires the development of an effective contract management strategy, whether local or international, to ensure the success of the projects subject to the contract, regardless of the type of contract. It is undeniable that effective planning, oversight, and strict control are essential for flexible contract management across all contracting stages, starting with specifications and requirements, negotiations, and bidding, followed by the stage of settling expenses, adjudicating bids, award procedures, and notification, all the way to the full and correct implementation of the contract. Change orders and contractual claims related to construction contracts also require an understanding of the types of change orders, their conditions, the party entitled to issue them, the timing of the order, and its value. As well as defining the claim, the strategy for entering into it, the parties to contractual claims, the sources of claims in the field of construction, and the clauses that must be included in the claim for each matter separately. All of these aspects must be studied and a combination of theory and practice regarding them must be made in order for the desired benefit to be widespread. In addition to what has been presented, arbitration, as a quick and effective means of resolving disputes that may arise from contracts, has become an inevitable necessity if a dispute arises between the contracting parties regarding the implementation or interpretation of the contract.
