Writing Legal Memoranda, Legal Interpretation Principles, and Following up on Legal Procedures

Why Attend

Legal or legislative drafting” is primarily concerned with the formation of binding legal texts. This includes laws, regulations, executive decisions, contracts, deeds, etc. Drafting does not require citing legal documents and, in general, is not impersonal. The linguistic style in which all legal documents are drafted rarely changes. Linguistic style refers to the linguistic features and structures used in writing a legal document. All drafters of legal documents use roughly the same linguistic features, characteristics, and structures. Therefore, while the form (or format) varies from one document to another, all legal documents generally use the same linguistic style.
